I remember my childhood days when we celebrated Chinese New Year with loud firecrackers! Dad would welcome the lunar new year by lighting up a long string tied to a bamboo pole from our balcony. Others did the same and soon the roads in the housing estate would be littered bright red!

At night, we had to stuff the years of my baby brothers with cotton wool as the explosive sound of firecrackers would frighten and wake them up. I hope you will enjoy fond memories of yesteryears when you see this art piece! :-)

Sadly but also to the relief of many, fireworks were banned in March 1972. The police had received 376 complaints about the illegal discharge of firecrackers during the Chinese New Year celebrations that year. Glimpses of Eden by jtmuses

As we roar in the New Year tomorrow (31 Jan 2022) may couplets of good wishes bring you abundant favour ! 恭贺新年。 新年的祝福,平日的希冀,愿你心境祥和、充满爱意,愿你的世界全是美满,愿你一切称心如意,快乐无比。

At New Year and always, may peace and love fill your heart, beauty fill your world, and contentment and joy fill your days.
