Shalom שָׁלוֹם !
"shalom” is taken from the root word shalam, which means, “to be safe in mind, body, or estate.” It speaks of completeness, fullness, or a type of wholeness that encourages you to give back — to generously re-pay something in some way". May Daddy God protect and heal my family and friends. #shalom “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem."
Above the Mud
A dragonfly represents change and light. I imprinted one on this oil on canvas of blue lotus fronds, perhaps a sign that I should make changes to my life that will bring light and happiness into my world. Get a repro at the link
"Under the lotus plants it lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. The lotuses conceal it in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround it." Job 40:21-22 Oil on canvas - awaiting the blue white blossom. Stay tuned as my spirit ascends above its behemoth! #glimpsesofeden. Get a repro at the link
My wings already exist.
Opoh Chope! A Peranakan Tale
Perhaps, the most significant Peranakan motifs are the exquisite peony and celestial phoenix. In this original oil painting of a nyonya, I depicted her thoughts on love and marriage. In its tightly clenched petals, her peonies hide her fertile musings. In it, arises a phoenix, a cosmic creature often seen on pillow ends and wedding cups…sanctifying eternal and harmonious love between a man and a woman.
POWER of PRAYER
Let the lifting up of my hands in prayer be accepted as sweet-smelling incense in your presence. Let it bring forth love, joy and peace. For through the years, a garden we will plant, filled with the fragrant beauty of roses. Reproduced from my original Oil painting: 18x18 inches Reproductions on archival museum quality canvas sell at $250.00 each
POWER of PRAYER
Say a Little Prayer and bless your loved ones! I have friends who are great prayer warriors and I give thanks for them. Psalms 141:2 Let my prayer be accepted as sweet-smelling incense in your presence. Let the lifting up of my hands in prayer be accepted as an evening sacrifice.
Joys of Motherhood
This is the 4th oil painting in A Peranakan tale, (Pretty Nyonya >her beau and her traditional Peranakan marriage & now Pretty Nyonya enjoys her motherhood...Just as we 3 gals are "birthing" more at Our exhibition - living@55 at SUTD Library (21 April to 5 May 2017)
Bath in His reflection
Reflections. Bathe in His light so that we can remember our true spirituality. So important that we plant His words daily to enable a manifestation of our true spirit and to bind the powers of principalities that exist.
Delighting in God's Creation
Surely, everything that comes from the hand of such a Master-artist as God has something in it of himself!
I wait- Psalms 37-7
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him remains radical for me. It requires climbing the long ladder of humility.
Relax In His Works
One of the purest and most innocent of joys, apart from spiritual things, in which one can indulge, is a joy in the works of God. Have a cup with Him in quietude.
“A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.
Soar Above Your Storms
And as I wait I'll rise up like the eagle And I will soar with You Your Spirit leads me on In the power of Your love
Prayers are Winged Angels
Be a Ray of Hope for someone in need. Fallen. We straddle 2 domains. And this is a dark realm. BUT we hold Eden in our spirit. “Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace and the evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire, says the Lord Almighty. Not a root or branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.”
Eve was God's last masterpiece “It is not good for man to be alone, I shall make him an ezer kenegdo.” Gen 2:18 The various attempts we have in English are “helper” or companion” or the notorious “help meet”. Hebrew scholar Robert Alter who spent many years translating the book of Genesis translates it as “sustainer beside him”. She rides the waves, alongside; she sustains you
Above Troubled Depths
Finalist in 2016 Angelico Art Award -Open Category: Who is Jesus to me: So often, people believe in a God but doubt the deity of Jesus Christ. They say He is just another prophet. To me, Jesus is the son of God. God revealed Himself to us in a personal way by coming down to earth and walking among us. Cherished by Him, I am held above troubled depths by His Love. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
When we see with our hearts, we see mythically, we begin to awaken and what we discover is that things are not what they seem. I may grow older with the passing years but may the good Lord always create in me a clean heart, renewed each day by His wondrous love. Ezekiel 36:26 says- I will give you a new heart." Thus, may I have the glory of a heart fully alive no matter no matter how old I grow! Oil on canvas/ 18 by 24 inches
Oil on canvas-32×24 inches Be still – Nature is a window to the spirit within us. “Still waters” - waters that flow very slowly and calmly - bring much peace and rest to one’s spirit. One of the most relaxing things in life is the sound of a flowing stream of water… it is something that brings you to a place of calm, where you can focus without any distractions. In Hebrew, the words for ‘still waters’ in Psalm 23:2 are “Mai Menochot”, meaning literally, “restful waters”.
Field of dreams.jpg
Field of joy and dreams: I love sleep as I dream vividly and play in refreshing dreams of restoration. In verdant fields, our flesh becomes fresher and in play, we return to our days of vigor. I am also constantly reminded that Reading the Word is a cleansing fountain. Prov 4:20-22 don't lose sight of my words.Let them penetrate within your heart, for they bring life and radiant health to anyone who discovers their meaning"
Focus onto Christ
Jesus calls to them saying "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid." Math 14:27 The Lord never promised we will never see a storm in life (as a matter of fact, He has told us to expect trouble, John 16:33). He has promised that He will be with us in the storm. He will never leave His children alone in the midst of trouble; with perseverance they will overcome (Deut 31:8; James 1:12). This can be immensely comforting to the Christian in a storm. Faith in Christ is never misplaced
I wait - Angelico Art Award
" I wait " God does not force Himself on anyone but patiently waits for us to seek Him. When we do, He covers us 24x24 with His feathers and under his wings shall we seek his trust and not be afraid.
Do u have an angel that helps you believe in miracles or that seed of miracle in yourself?
Rising on Wings of Healing. It is called angel hope as we dream to reality what we want in life! When Wrought with worry,I find release in the realm of my art. This is a 12"x12" sized paintingbut I hope to do a series of large pieces! Of angels at work - of rising in wings of healing as I seek His presence. Malachi 4: 1-2. Painted 24.4.15
