"shalom” is taken from the root word shalam, which means, “to be safe in mind, body, or estate.” It speaks of completeness, fullness, or a type of wholeness that encourages you to give back — to generously re-pay something in some way". Above the Mud

Be Still

Oil on canvas-32×24 inches Be still – Nature is a window to the spirit within us. “Still waters” - waters that flow very slowly and calmly - bring much peace and rest to one’s spirit. One of the most relaxing things in life is the sound of a flowing stream of water… it is something that brings you to a place of calm, where you can focus without any distractions. In Hebrew, the words for ‘still waters’ in Psalm 23:2 are “Mai Menochot”, meaning literally, “restful waters”.

Focus onto Christ

Jesus calls to them saying "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid." Math 14:27 The Lord never promised we will never see a storm in life (as a matter of fact, He has told us to expect trouble, John 16:33). He has promised that He will be with us in the storm. He will never leave His children alone in the midst of trouble; with perseverance they will overcome (Deut 31:8; James 1:12). This can be immensely comforting to the Christian in a storm. Faith in Christ is never misplaced

Bath in His reflection

Reflections. Bathe in His light so that we can remember our true spirituality. So important that we plant His words daily to enable a manifestation of our true spirit and to bind the powers of principalities that exist.

Opoh Chope! A Peranakan Tale

Perhaps, the most significant Peranakan motifs are the exquisite peony and celestial phoenix. In this original oil painting of a nyonya, I depicted her thoughts on love and marriage. In its tightly clenched petals, her peonies hide her fertile musings. In it, arises a phoenix, a cosmic creature often seen on pillow ends and wedding cups…sanctifying eternal and harmonious love between a man and a woman.

Above Troubled Depths

I may grow older with the passing years but may the good Lord always create in me a clean heart, renewed each day by His wondrous love. Ezekiel 36:26 says- I will give you a new heart." Living Waters

Inspired again by Ezekiel's search 47: 1-12. "I would like to invite u to reflect on a river that is able to draw us closer to God in prayer"... I had promised a lovely retired pastor lady I would paint Living Streams since attending her silent retreat on 31 March 2015. Given as a gift on her birthday.

Confident Expectations
